Backup Server Control
Known Issues
Time Machine on macOS Tahoe may fail if the destination volume has a name with non-ASCII characters: If a new destination volume for Time Machine backups is added to a Mac running a version of macOS 26 Tahoe, and the volume name contains international characters (such as "รค") all backups will fail. This can also affect Backup Server Control if the disk image name (not the name of the sparse-bundle on the server, and not the name of the SMB share) uses characters which are not part of the ASCII set of characters.
Workaround: This is known defect of Time Machine in macOS Tahoe. We have informed Apple about this issue and hope they will fix it in future versions of macOS 26. As a workaround, just rename the destination volume so that the name only contains simple Latin letters, digits or typewriter punctuation.
