We are releasing System Monitor version 6.0 through the Mac App Store:

Added new feature for modern Macs with Apple Silicon to monitor whether the Apple Neural Engine is currently in use. This is a new, separate monitoring item. It is not available for Macs with Intel processors.
Added new option to ensure that history graphs for processor load won’t auto-zoom, even if the system is never put under high load. This way the scale of history graphs is guaranteed to match the scale of the bar indicator.
Modernized organization of language support files.

System Monitor is an application for the menu bar of macOS, designed to inform you unobtrusively about the activity of your computer. A Trial Version is available as free download.

System Monitor Plus is a free add-on for System Monitor. After simply copying it to your computer, many additional features become available which are not permitted to be directly included in Apps from the Mac App Store.

November 20, 2023:
We are releasing TinkerTool version 9.65:

The option to control the delay time for showing help tags (“tooltips”) was reinstated for macOS 13 and macOS 14.
This version fixes a problem where the visual instructions to enable Full Disk Access for activating Safari options were shown with an invalid layout.

TinkerTool is an application that gives you access to additional preference settings Apple has built into macOS. This allows to activate hidden features in the operating system and in some of the applications delivered with the system.

November 16, 2023:
We are releasing TinkerTool System 8 version 8.88:

Added new feature to remove the large files of optional Apple slow-motion screen savers immediately if necessary (macOS 14 or later only).
Added support for new Background Item technology in upcoming versions of macOS.
Added support for testing fans on Macs with M3 processors.
All features that search or modify files selected by the user have been revised to avoid conflicts with iCloud or cloud solutions of other vendors. Opening affected folders will no longer trigger automatic synchronization downloads executed by macOS.
Updated support for cleaning kernel core dump files.

XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

November 7, 2023:
We are releasing Sync Checker version 3.93:

Legacy components have been removed and the packaging has been modernized. macOS 11 has now become the minimum operating system version.
The application will now detect offline cloud objects, implemented with the new APFS features for “dataless” files. These objects might not be stored on the local computer or could change during a synchronization check. For this reason, Sync Checker will now ignore them and avoid to trigger a cloud download.

Sync Checker is a diagnostic application which can check if two folders or disks are perfectly synchronized, i.e. if they have exactly the same contents. When creating backup copies of valuable files, or when making sure that two computers or mobile devices work on the same set of data, the status of being “in perfect sync” can be very important. In order to be safe and to prevent loss of data, you can let Sync Checker verify whether a pair of file collections are matching exactly or not.

We are releasing JPEG Photo File Date version 1.1 through the App Store:

Added new feature to fix the date specifications of photo folders additionally after the app has repaired all date fields for image files in a certain folder and that folder does not hold any other data.
Added new dialog to stop a running operation when executing a bulk job on several thousand image files. The user interface of the app will now always remain responsive even for jobs that take a long time to complete.
Added new guidance for cases where a user instructs the app to scan folders which cannot be modified or where privacy-protected resources could be accessed.
Removing entries from a job table for which a specific sort order had been specified is now significantly faster.
User guidance has been changed in cases when scanning image folders which contain JPEG files but not JPEG photos with recording dates which could be processed. This avoids confusing situations when an empty result is returned.

JPEG Photo File Date comes to help when you have lost the file creation or modification times of JPEG photo files: It can read the metadata of a JPEG photo file when the picture was taken and fix the file settings for “date created” or “date last modified” accordingly. Even large amounts of pictures, such as a folder hierarchy with several tens of thousands of photos, can be processed quickly without any problems.

Apple SafeView version 9.9 (Update Product ID: 032-01893)

SafeView 9.9 changes the feedback flow from SafeView Health to Gravity and introduces updated messaging, including for blocked devices. Shared Settings now supports transfer and consult flows for phone Advisors and features an updated progress screen for connecting with the customer.

SafeView is an internal utility that macOS customers can use to share their screens via Internet with service representatives from Apple or AppleCare. It allows remote access for support purposes. This software is not available to the general public.
