Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:

• Apple XProtect Configuration Data version 5353 for OS X 10.11 to macOS 10.14 (Update Product ID: 140-75747)
• Apple XProtect Configuration Data version 5353 for macOS Catalina and later (Update Product ID: 140-75749)
  

XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

The updates address defects, as well as critical security issues in the operating systems. macOS 26.6 additionally optimizes Spotlight to make an upgrade to the forthcoming macOS 27 easier.

July 27, 2026:
We are releasing Mac Power Monitor version 2.91:

• The layout of the overview window for Macs with Apple Silicon was optimized to allow that the chip power graphs can now resize without limitations.
• All percentage values shown by the application now strictly follow the language and locale preferences of the current user.
• Fixed an issue where the overview window did not show correct processor activity readings on Macs with M5 Pro and M5 Max processors depending on operating system version. Apple had unexpectedly changed the internal designations for medium-performance cores to performance cores, and performance cores to super cores for marketing reasons with macOS 26.4 and higher.

Mac Power Monitor is a graphical, easy-to-use interface for the energy and power measuring features of macOS.

We are releasing TinkerTool System 9 version 9.91:

• Added new user feature to determine the size of the personal Core Spotlight databases, including the possibility to erase the data if abnormal consumption of storage space is detected.
• The user interface for upgrade registrations was redesigned. Product activation now shows revised guidance in cases where users like to activate an upgrade license on new systems where no old data was migrated.
• Changes to support future versions of macOS.

We are releasing Battery Monitor version 5.9 through the Mac App Store:

• Added new entry in the long-term status sheet, indicating the time when the operating system collected the shown data.
• Added support for upcoming changes expected in future versions of macOS.
• Fixed an issue where the maximum and nominal capacity percentage values could not be shown in the long-term status sheet when using specific combinations of macOS version and Macintosh models.

Battery Monitor is a powerful App to display the charge state of portable Macs in the Dock, to display internal battery information, to capture charge and discharge curves, to keep logs of the aging process of the battery, and to add notifications via Notification Center or speech output.

July 6, 2026:
We are releasing TinkerTool version 11.7:

• Added new setting to change the degree of rounded corners in windows. The value can be set to match the defaults of previous generations of macOS. (Setting for macOS 26.4 or later only.)
• Added new setting to disable the floating Liquid Glass effect for sidebars in windows.
• Updated preliminary support for future versions of macOS.
