Temperature Monitor

This product has end-of-life status as of August 1, 2014 and is no longer in active development. Product support and advertizing will end on October 1, 2014.

Apple is using several technical and organizational means with each new hardware and operating system generation that try to further hinder applications which query sensor values during system operation. Unfortunately, the resulting fight against these measures has become as costly in the meanwhile that continuing development of a gratis application for sensor monitoring is no longer practicable.

Temperature MonitorTemperature Monitor is an application to read out all accessible temperature sensors in Macintosh computers released between August 2002 and October 2012. The program can visualize the history graphs of the readings, display measured values in a large variety of fashions, or announce readings by speech output. It can also store and export values.

Temperature Monitor is the small gratis version of the application Hardware Monitor. Hardware Monitor can additionally display "non-temperature" sensors and artificial operating system probes, or control external LCD panels. Temperature Monitor is part of a software suite of 9 different monitoring applications which can be used for numerous purposes.

Temperature Monitor is electronically distributed software. You can download the product free of charge.

Problems with OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 or later?

If you aren't using the latest download package of Temperature Monitor, the application will refuse to work because it (correctly) detects an issue with system security under OS X 10.9.5 or later. Just download the latest distribution package to resolve this problem or see our special information page.
