We are releasing Bresink Software
Updater, version 1.92. This is a backported
version that implements the new capabilities of release
2.1, for users of older operating systems
between macOS 11.0 and macOS 14.8.1:
- Added new feature to handle updates even in cases where it is additionally necessary to switch from the main distribution branch to a legacy release still available for older operating system versions.
A rapidly growing number of users are avoiding using
up-to-date versions of macOS, as this is often
associated with technical issues, feature drops, and
poor product quality. The new version of the Updater
accommodates this recent trend.
Version 1.92 of the updater is a legacy release
itself, because it has been superseded by version 2
for macOS 15 and later. For reasons of logic, earlier
versions in old operating systems cannot notify users
about this update. The application must be downloaded
from our
legacy software page, replacing the old copy
manually.
If you use many of our software products on your Mac, it can become tedious to keep all of them up-to-date. Bresink Software Updater facilitates the maintenance of our applications considerably. At a glance you can see if all programs are at their latest versions. You will be notified about available updates and can decide to either trigger the update procedure for a single product or for all of them automatically.
