We are releasing Bresink
Software Updater, version 1.9:
- Because Apple changed the terminology for software updates in some languages and to avoid confusion between functions that update programs or refresh the status display of programs, some menu items and buttons use different wordings now.
- The application was hardened further with additional security checks to prevent theoretical abuse of update features by malware.
- Due to the continuing performance problems of Spotlight in macOS 15 Sequoia, the intended delay when refreshing the application list after successful updates is increased by 100% if necessary.
If you use many of our software products on your Mac, it can become tedious to keep all of them up-to-date. Bresink Software Updater facilitates the maintenance of our applications considerably. At a glance you can see if all programs are at their latest versions. You will be notified about available updates and can decide to either trigger the update procedure for a single product or for all of them automatically.

February 6, 2025:
Our quality assurance tests indicate that important
services of the Mac App Store are currently inaccessible
for users still running one of the following operating
systems:
- OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion
- OS X 10.9 Mavericks
- OS X 10.10 Yosemite
- OS X 10.11 El Capitan
- macOS 10.12 Sierra
- macOS 10.13 High Sierra
- macOS 10.14 Mojave
This can have one or all of the following consequences:
- You cannot sign in to the App Store.
- You can no longer download apps you have purchased in the past.
- Specific interactions with the App Store result in error messages similar to “plist could not be parsed” or “server response: 500”.
- The App Store may indicate that paid apps are allegedly “damaged” and need to be downloaded again.
At the moment, it is unclear whether this is a temporary failure or a planned shutdown. Apple had discontinued support of the App Store for Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard and Mac OS X 10.7 Lion in February 2023 already.
Please note that we are technically unable to help you if your old macOS installation refuses to launch App Store apps from us or other vendors. You need to contact Apple for further support.
6. Februar 2025:
