Apple releases new software via macOS Software Update:

Allow List for Macintosh firmware security checks (“EFI Check”), version 143 (Update Product ID: 042-43559)

XProtect is part of the built-in antivirus software of macOS. The package does not appear in the Software Update section of System Preferences (or App Store in older versions of the operating system). macOS is updating the software automatically in the background if you have granted the system permission to download system data files and security-related files.

We are releasing TinkerTool System 8 version 8.86:

Added full support for macOS 14 Sonoma.
Added new options to reset the privacy settings for Location Services, Motion & Fitness (macOS 14 or later only), and Passkeys Access for Web Browsers.
Added new features for software developers when performing a security check on a single application that is not planned to be distributed through the App Store: It can be validated whether an application is ready either to be submitted to Apple’s notary service, or to be executed on customer computers. This feature is only available for macOS 14 or later.
Users can now also go back to the overview menu of a pane with subitems by clicking onto the pane in the sidebar.
Due to architectural changes in recent Macintosh models and macOS versions, the feature to disable System Integrity Protection by mouse click via the emergency utility (ttsfrm) had to be removed.
Fixed a problem where the current status of System Integrity Protection may not have been shown correctly on Macs with Apple Silicon.

TinkerTool System 8 is a collection of system utility features helping you in performing advanced administration tasks on Apple Macintosh computers.

Added full support for macOS 14 Sonoma.
Added new setting to show the Problem Reporter as application in the Dock when applications crash.
The setting not to prefer iCloud when applications save documents has been removed because it is no longer respected by the latest versions of macOS.
Fixed a problem where an outdated designation was shown for the System Settings application depending on the user's preferred language.

TinkerTool is an application that gives you access to additional preference settings Apple has built into macOS. This allows to activate hidden features in the operating system and in some of the applications delivered with the system.

We are releasing Autostarter version 1.7 through the Mac App Store:

Added new feature to detect whether the user has configured items for applications that don’t support windows during launch or are otherwise limited in their user interfaces. This is basically a misuse of Autostarter which could cause performance issues or abnormal behavior at login time. The new version still auto-starts such apps, but all attempts to control their windows will be abandoned early.
The start report and the configuration assistant features have been enhanced accordingly.

Autostarter is a small app that makes it possible to launch applications automatically during login without letting the applications show windows, even with macOS Ventura or later.
